Unlock your Potential, Micro-credentials

The Centre for Adult Learning and Professional Development, under the direction of Nuala McGuinn, has been spearheading the development of Micro-credentials at the University of Galway under the Human Capital Initiative national MicroCreds project. Micro-credentials are small, accredited courses designed to meet the demands of learners, enterprise and organisations, created by Irish Universities Association (IUA) partner universities in consultation with enterprise. Micro-credentials provide learning opportunities that offer a highly flexible, bite-sized, and accessible way of upskilling and reskilling. Janice Mulvany Glennon is the lead for the MicroCreds project at the university and with her colleague David Stafford, the CELT staff and the academics developing the Micro-credentials, they have launched a series of Podcast interviews explaining what these Micro-credentials are about. These podcasts should go some way to helping adult learners choose a short learning experience which will benefit them in their current or future careers. Even if you are not taking a Micro-credential, these podcasts cover a variety of very interesting topics, so come and listen for some Micro Learning!
